Syrup (SYRUP) is the revamped governance and staking token of Maple Finance, replacing the previous MPL token at a migration rate of 1 MPL to 100 SYRUP—this transition aimed to unify governance and staking within a single token framework. SYRUP empowers holders to participate in protocol governance, earn staking rewards from revenue generated by institutional lending, and benefit from buybacks driven by protocol fees. Launched in November 2024 with a maximum supply capped around 1.2 billion, the token delivers value-accrual through revenue sharing and token economics designed to incentivize long-term holding.
