New Kind of Network was introduced in 2018 by the creator of Wolfram|Alpha Stephen Wolfram and the founder of public-key cryptography Whitfield Diffie. The platform positions itself as a decentralised platform for peer-to-peer networks based on blockchain. New Kind of Network enables its community members to easily distribute network transmission capacity and Internet access. In 2019, the team has also launched NKN Mainnet which currently includes almost 30,000 full consensus nodes. The platform has many use cases and has already partnered with a variety of well-known Chinese projects and companies, such as Edge computing.
