KuCoin Alternatives for Altcoin Holders (2026)

KuCoin Alternatives for Altcoin Holders on the Godex blog
Contents

By the Godex blog team, October 29, 2026. Godex is one of the services mentioned. We took everything about KuCoin and the others from their own pages in October 2026.

KuCoin has long been where people go for altcoins. It lists 1,000+ tokens. But since August 31, 2023, new users have to verify their identity before they can use KuCoin's products. If you'd rather swap altcoins without an exchange account, look at Godex, StealthEX, ChangeHero and Exolix. They swap coins wallet to wallet. PancakeSwap and Uniswap let you swap from a wallet you control. This piece is short on purpose: what to check first, where to go, and when KuCoin is still the better fit.

Quick context

KuCoin's Help Center says it has required identity verification for all users since November 1, 2018. On August 7, 2023, it announced a stricter version. From August 31, 2023, new users must complete standard verification, with an ID document and face check, "in order to use KuCoin's products and services". Accounts opened before that date and never verified keep a reduced set of services: selling, closing positions and redeeming Earn. KuCoin says deposits aren't available to them.

That's KuCoin running a regulated-style exchange; it isn't hiding anything. It's also why a lot of altcoin holders now look for a lighter route for simple swaps.

Before you withdraw anything

Do these first, because they're where altcoin moves usually go wrong:

  1. Check the token, not just the ticker. Many altcoins exist on more than one chain, sometimes as different contracts. Make sure the swap service lists the same token on the same chain you're sending.
  2. Match the network. KuCoin will offer several withdrawal networks. The swap form names one. Pick that one, or the deposit may never arrive.
  3. Look for a memo or tag field. Some coins need it, and a missing tag is the most common reason a deposit gets stuck.
  4. Send a little first. One small swap on the same pair tells you the route works.

Where to swap altcoins without an account

The four swap services differ in one main way each.

Godex suits you when you want a fixed rate and no cap. It's been running since 2017, needs no account, and lists 960+ coins, including privacy coins like Monero (LTC to XMR). Its fixed rate holds if the deposit is confirmed within 30 minutes, and there's no upper volume limit. Swaps usually finish 5–30 minutes after the deposit arrives. Be aware of a few things:

  • The fixed rate includes a spread, so Godex isn't always the cheapest quote.
  • Its AML/KYC Policy is risk-based, so it can check, refuse or postpone a transaction it rates high-risk.
  • Its Terms allow extra time or a refund if the market moves 3% or more before your deposit lands.
  • It doesn't serve some jurisdictions listed in that policy.

StealthEX wins on breadth. Its list of 2,000+ coins and tokens is bigger than KuCoin's 1,000+, so it's the first place to look for an obscure token. No account is needed, it offers fixed rates for exact amounts, and its About page says there are no upper limits. Its July 2026 Terms describe "a risk-based approach to verification", applied in rare cases according to its FAQ.

ChangeHero is about speed on the big names. It aggregates quotes from 10+ venues and says swaps take about five minutes on average. With 350+ swap assets, it covers the majors more than the long tail. It was founded in 2017, has a 15-minute fixed rate, and says there's "no hard limit on the maximum swap amount". Its March 2026 Terms let it apply AML/KYC checks to specific transactions.

Exolix gives you the most time. Its Terms hold a fixed rate for 60 minutes from order creation, which helps when a withdrawal is slow to confirm. It launched in 2018 with 500+ cryptocurrencies and needs no registration. The widget shows per-pair limits, even though its About page says there's no maximum. Its July 2026 AML/KYC Policy describes a risk-based review.

Prefer your own wallet? Two DEX routes, plus KuCoin's own

If your altcoins already sit in a self-custody wallet, a decentralized exchange skips the middleman entirely.

  • PancakeSwap. Its docs say "no registration or account needed" and list eleven chains, BNB Chain among them. It doesn't hold your funds. Its Terms restrict sanctioned persons and jurisdictions.
  • Uniswap. Its Terms say you need a non-custodial wallet to use the interface, and that Uniswap Labs has no custody of the wallet's contents.

DEXs come with their own costs. You sign every transaction, pay network fees and accept smart-contract risk. If something goes wrong, there's no support desk.

KuCoin itself also offers a self-custody option: the KuCoin Web3 Wallet, which it describes as "a decentralized, non-custodial wallet supporting multiple blockchains", with a built-in cross-chain swap aggregator.

How the Godex swap works

The images show the Godex form in October 2026, using LTC to XMR.

  1. Choose what you're sending and what you want back. The estimate updates live.

  2. Pick a rate. The order form starts on floating; fixed locks the amount if the deposit is confirmed within 30 minutes. The form also names the network, so match your KuCoin withdrawal to it.

  4. Send the deposit to the one-time address Godex shows. Expect the swap to complete 5–30 minutes after it arrives.

When KuCoin is still the better fit

Stay with KuCoin if you trade futures or margin, run trading bots, use Earn or the card, or simply want an order book for active trading. For a full look at the exchange, read our KuCoin review. For one-off swaps, the options above do the job without an account. Whichever you use, rules still apply: every service here, Godex included, has an AML or restriction clause, and your tax obligations don't change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can new users use KuCoin without KYC?

No. KuCoin announced that from August 31, 2023 (UTC), new users must complete standard identity verification, with an ID document and face verification, to use its products and services. Its Help Center says verification has been required for all users since November 1, 2018.

What can an old, unverified KuCoin account still do?

For accounts registered before August 31, 2023 and never verified, KuCoin's Help Center lists a reduced set of services, such as selling, closing positions and redeeming Earn, and says deposits aren't available. Check KuCoin's current page for the exact list.

Where can I swap an obscure altcoin without an account?

Start with the largest list. StealthEX says it covers 2,000+ coins and tokens, and Godex lists 960+. If the token lives in your own wallet on a chain PancakeSwap or Uniswap supports, a DEX may list it too. Always confirm it's the same token on the same chain.

Does KuCoin have a non-custodial wallet?

Yes. The KuCoin Web3 Wallet is a separate product that KuCoin describes as decentralized and non-custodial, supporting multiple blockchains and including a cross-chain swap aggregator.
